Action Learning

What it is

Action-learing2Action learning is a learning/educational process where the participants reflect/study their own actions and experience in order to improve performance and their contribution to the organization. This concept is close to learning-by-doing and teaching through examples and repetitions. 

Action learning is done with others, in groups of small and large.  It is particularly applicable for adults, as it enables each person to reflect on and review the action they have taken and the learning points arising. This should then guide future action and improve performance. 

Action Learning is used to tackle a strategic business issue, make recommendations to more senior decision-makers. Action Learning works as a talent management process and is established for selecting, assessing, and developing top performers to achieve new levels of knowledge, skills, and experience. 

Application of Action Learning

Action Learning is best applied and adapted when faced with issues of: 

Cross-organizational and cross-functional collaboration;

       ☆ Examination of large strategic issues from or by a fresh set of eyes;

       ☆ Solving chronic problems with different ways;

       ☆  Developing executives in leading and participating in teams;
